Another year has gone. COVID restrictions were relaxed for most of the year and we were able to get back to a bit of normalcy... for a bit. It was great to see people, again. Radio was able to have remote broadcasts, with some limitations. We had the annual station's haunted house with the theme of Wizard of Oz... I was Auntie Em. Everyone loved the costume. Thank goodness for my experience in theatre and my know how of theatrical make-up. Then. we had a meet and greet with Santa... the Hawk Elf made her return. Listerners loved all of it. All of the stations were involved in two different Christmas parades... to my surprise I could hear people yell out my name! That means the station is doing very well and people are listening. Other proof of that is the gift a listener dropped off for the studio saying, "No yelling in this house unless the Seahawks are playing." THAT means I'm making a connection.
My son and I went to see the Foo Fighters in Seattle. I have waited 24 years to see them again. What an amazing show. It was everything I had hoped it would be and more.
Another highlight of the year was the trip to Las Vegas over the summer. Jim and I met for five days, in July, and toured Vegas, traveled to the Hoover Dam, and Boulder City. He treated me to the most wonderful vacation I have ever had as a birthday gift.
I have wonderful people in my life... from my co-workers, to my son, to my fiance. I am grateful for all of them. I am blessed.
Bring on 2022! I look forward to the challenges it brings because I know I have people around me who will lift me up so I can succeed.
